Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko, an Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai fighter from Peru, and mixed martial arts athlete competing for in the UFC in the Flyweight Division is currently in Kyrgyzstani. She is the elder sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko is a Muay Thai boxer started her career in fight sport at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event in a unified victory against Suzane Miller. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008 and a gold in the year 2011, and then was named the IFMA Amateur World Muay Thailand Champion in 2016. Antonia has started her career as a professional in 2003, won in 2012 and the 2016 Lion Fight Lightweight Championships. In 2016, the WMC World Championships also held in 2016, and she took home the 2016 IFMA Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas during The Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won the fight via unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko started the professional phase of her MMA career in 2002 with a win over Anara Baanova at the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She took the win in the second round by TKO and also won her subsequent two fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass an overall record of three-three. Shevchenko took a break from MMA so that she could focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her comeback against Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she resigned from the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities in the final clinch by using knees on the body. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended in the wake of this win. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision after she won her first fight. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss and beat Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. This fight earned Antonina the prize of Fight of The Night. Shevchenko was victorious in her initial three fights before losing her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
