Claire Elise Boucher was born March 17, 1988. She is known as Grimes. Her early work has been classified as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4] with influences from electronic, hip-hop, and rock. Her songs frequently touch on the themes of science fiction and feminists. The band has released five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver then moved to Montreal. She started her independently-based music career in the mid in the 2000s. In 2010 she debuted two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions will be her third studio effort. She signed with 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis", and "Oblivion" which was presented with an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. The album followed this and she released her fourth studio album Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received the acclaim of critics, with several publications having named it the best album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album. Grimes, who is also an actor and judge in Alter Ego's competitions for music, was singer for Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020.
